Definition: Spawning is joining the game at a designated location on the map when you first enter a game or re-enter (respawn) after being killed. In most FPS games, weapons also reappear again a certain length of time after being picked up by players. Monsters in online RPGs typically respawn at set intervals so that there are always plenty of hostile creatures around.
