Free pinball has become a way for companies to promote their brand and encourage people to visit their Web sites. Many online pinball games use Macromedia Shockwave, so those of you that don't have it already might want to download and install it before you play. These games typically use Ctrl and Shift keys for the flipper buttons and the spacebar to launch the ball.

WildSnake Software has created a great 3D simulation of soccer pinball, which is a head-to-head variation of the game. It's a nice size, it has sharp graphics, solid physics, and even nudge controls. You can only play against computer opponents right now but a multiplayer version may be offered in the future.

The movie wasn't all that memorable, but this pinball game on the official Starsky & Hutch site is impressive. It's large enough to play on a full screen, ball movement is terrific, and getting a good score is tricky.

A Flash pinball game with 3D effects that look great. It's a bit noisy but it plays almost like the real thing.
High Gear Pinball
The flippers are a bit small and they don't
angle up much, but this game has cool sounds, neat graphics, and good ball
movement, with some unique targets to shoot for.
SpongeBob SquarePants 3D Pinball Panic
A different approach to pinball where you tilt the table to control the movement of the ball. There are 4 tables to choose from and you can play with either keyboard or mouse.
Road Hockey Pinball
Very good Shockwave pinball from Splashworks.
This particular version uses a red ball on a gray background, which really
helps visibility.
