One unusual feature recently added to World of Warcraft is the pet battle system, which consists of a mini-game played with the game's collectible pets. Participation is entirely optional, but there's a surprizing amount of depth to these contests and they are available to all players whether they have the Mists of Pandaria expansion or not.
