SOE's Vanguard was scheduled to go free-to-play on August 14th, but it looks like they made it to the gate early. The official site has been revamped and the game client is now available to any and all who wish to download it and jump in. Although I haven't played in a long time, I'm sure this MMORPG has improved considerably since I reviewed it shortly after launch, and it has always offered rather unique crafting and diplomacy features. The latest update has also removed race and class restrictions from Vanguard, giving you more freedom to create the character of your choosing.
