April Fools Roundup

Tuesday April 1, 2008
As is always the case on the 1st of April, jokes and spoofs of the games we love are in abundance. Blizzard has gotten into the spirit with a phoney announcement of World of Warcraft: The Molten Core for consoles, complete with a hilarious trailer showing us what Molten Core bosses might look like on the Atari 2600. They've also introduced a "new" hero class called Bards for Wrath of the Lich King. They're equipped with guitars and they have skills like "heavy metal," and "punk rock."

In other April Fools Day news, scientists have developed the CatBox 360, Gmail will now have a custom time feature for the tardy, and The Lord of Rings Online is going to let you play as a chicken in the Battle of Amon Hen. Have fun with that epic "crossing the road" quest!
