Mytopia Goes Live

Monday March 24, 2008
There seems to be a new casual gaming/social networking site launched every other week, and Mytopia is the latest to jump into the market. Their current selection of games is nothing you won't see on hundreds of other sites - Backgammon, Spades, Hearts, Poker, Sodoku - but they hope to draw people in with a high level of interoperability with other social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace. The free version is supported with ads, but you can get rid of them with a $5 per month subscription.

A lot of people have mentioned how much their landing page looks like Sierra's ImagiNation Network from back in the early 1990s. The word is that the resemblance is a deliberate effort to pay homage to the old network, which was among the first of its kind. For a real amusing blast from the past, check out this Sierra Network TV Ad, now archived on YouTube for future generations.
