Battlefield Heroes Details Emerge

There's a developer blog post up on the Battlefield Heroes site revealing a few more details about this upcoming free title from EA and DICE. It will be based on the Battlefield 2142 engine, but the simplified graphics will give it lower system requirements. They also seem intent on preserving the core elements of the Battlefield franchise. As well, Planet Battlefield has a few screenshots pulled from a German TV station, and it's quite a change in direction from a visual standpoint. I'd say this game has a good chance of succeeding, although it may not appeal to the hardcore Battlefield crowd.
