Game Addiction Clinic Swamped
Saturday July 29, 2006
It's common knowledge that some gamers have a hard time keeping their hobby under control. We've all spent too much time playing at one point or another to the detriment of our social life, education, or job. A recently opened clinic for game addicts in Amsterdam has apparently been flooded with calls from people seeking help from all over the world. I'm still wary of equating all compulsive behavior with addiction, but there is little doubt that excessive gaming can get unhealthy. It will be interesting to see if this kind of treatment, which includes meditation, fitness training, group therapy, and (you guessed it) parachuting trips, helps these gamers break the habit in the long run. (Thanks Josh.)
