Washington State Tackles Online Gambling

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer is reporting that Washington has passed a law against wagering money on Internet games that will make it Class C felony as of June 7, 2006. Apparently this will apply to poker as well as other types of online gambling. "Although the head of the state Gambling Commission says it is unlikely that individual online gamblers will be targeted for arrest, the new law carries stiff penalties: as much as five years in prison and a $10,000 fine."
