War Rock Announced

K2 Network is developing a new tactical online shooter that will be available free of charge. War Rock features a variety of modern combat vehicles and weapons, and appears to have a great deal in common with Battlefield 2. "K2 Network's Free2Play model allows players to have full access to the game free. Fans that crave an enhanced experience can use in-game money earned during play or real world cash to access increased player abilities, special weapons and other benefits." This revenue model works for some online RPGs, but I'm not so sure shooter fans will want to play a game that gives people who spend money an advantage. A beta test of War Rock is planned for next month.
