Fooling Around
Saturday April 1, 2006
April 1st never fails to produce some entertaining fake news items on the Web, although they rarely seem to fool anyone anymore. A few of my favorites this year are Blizzard's new wisp race for World of Warcraft, a nude cheat for Madden 2006 from AOL Games, and GameSpot's hands-on preview of World of Starcraft. Here's a quote from the ladder that made my day: "What's more, the company intends to address many of the specific issues that have plagued World of Warcraft up till this point, especially those relating to the extremely high demand for the game. For example, rather than having to sit around twiddling your thumbs, waiting in a queue to get onto your preferred server, Blizzard will be treating its fans to a fully integrated game of classic Starcraft, built right into the queuing system."
