MMOG About Africa Planned
Monday February 6, 2006
Given the number of massively multiplayer games that feature elves, dwarves, and ogres, it's always a welcome sight to see someone experimenting with a different setting for an online world. MTV has news on an upcoming MMOG based on Africa in the 13th century, meant to help people better understand the continent. The game is being developed by Rapid Reality and Africast Global Media. "They want a virtual world that functions dynamically: antelope that find new pastures when grassland is scorched, drum music fully customizable by players and used — as in real ancient Africa — as an alternate langue. They want players to be able to become famous and change the map." They hope to launch the game in December. There's more information and concept art available on the official site.
