GameTap Launches

Monday October 17, 2005
Turner Broadcasting has launched GameTap, a new service that provides games-on-demand to broadband Internet users. Subscribers get unlimited access to the current selection of over 300 games for a monthly fee of $14.95, and there is a 2 week free trial. If you have fond memories of games that you played on the Atari 2600 or the Sega Genesis, they have a great selection of original titles from that era, and you don't need an emulator to run them on your PC. They also have tons of classic arcade games, and a few more recent titles like Splinter Cell and Homeworld 2.
