Heroes and Villains on a Single Subscription

Friday October 7, 2005
A lot of people playing City of Heroes have been wondering whether they will have to pay additional subscription fees to play City of Villains, the sequel to the popular superhero MMORPG. NCsoft revealed yesterday that people who purchase both games will be able to play under a single subscription fee of $14.99 per month. "City of Villains, a stand-alone sequel to last year’s hit, City of Heroes, is expected to be released on October 31, with a subscription price of $14.99 per month. The pricing plan means that current City of Heroes subscribers need only purchase City of Villains to play and enjoy features from both games." Frankly, I doubt they had much of a choice, as charging separate monthly fees for the two games would make them a very tough sell, and a substantial portion of their users would migrate from one game to the other rather than pay twice.
