ESRB Changes GTA: San Andreas Rating

Thursday July 21, 2005
In what must be the biggest "scandal" to hit video games since the Half-Life 2 code theft, the Entertainment Software Rating Board has changed the rating of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas from "Mature" to "Adults Only," based on the discovery of a sex mini-game, known as Hot Coffee, hidden within the title. Adding to the intrigue is the question of whether this was done intentionally, or whether it's an unauthorized third party modification is to blame. Who would have thought that a crudely rendered sex scene that most users will never even see could raise such a stir? Shacknews has posted the results of the ESRB investigation into the matter.
