GameSpy Terms Could Effect Mac Gamers

Wednesday December 8, 2004
Apparently GameSpy, whose game matching service is intergrated into many titles, has increased its licensing fee for Mac games. Until recently Mac developers were given a discount to make up for the smaller circulation of Mac games, but they must now pay the same price as their PC counterparts. Although Mac games currently available that use GameSpy are not effected, this will likely impact future use of the GameSpy SDK in Mac titles. It would certainly be unfortunate to see something like this set cross-platform online computer gaming back a few years. Yahoo News has the full story.
