More Doom 3

Saturday July 17, 2004
The official Doom 3 Web site is now up, featuring a QuickTime trailer and screenshots. Although the graphics look terrific, I still have some doubts about the multiplayer side of the game, despite a short interview with id programmer Robert Duffy on GameSpy, confirming the game uses traditional client-server netwoking technology rather than peer-to-peer, as was rumored. Perhaps the most disappointing thing is that "DOOM 3 multiplayer is based around 4 players; however, internally it is not limited to that. Mod teams will be able to support more." 4 players? Sounds like Doom of old.
