RuneScape Gets Major Update

Wednesday March 31, 2004
The latest version of RuneScape, a free MMORPG that runs in a Web browser, is now live. Although the graphics are relatively primitive, it downloads in a heartbeat and offers a remarkably large world to explore. If you like it you can become a member for $5 per month and get access to various extras. Read the press release on GamerFeed or play the game at RuneScape.com.

I don’t know where you have heard of this game, but it was one of the best MMORPG’s you could play until jag ex ltd killed it, I’m not saying it was the best graphics thought far from it, but the pkin (PvP) in the wilderness made up for that. They took away the wilderness where you could kill others of a similar combat level and replaced it with a poor mini game called bounty hunter.

They blamed real world trades for there actions, Chinese and Korean autoer’s and people that sold runescape gold (money) via web sites, but now many players that just played to pk have left.

nice one jagex you killed the once great game runescape and now they are more or less trying to turn it into WOW. the 10th of December 2007 was the date they took it out of the game.

I’m sure they could of sued web sites and banned these countries from been able to log on to there server, but no they took the easy option…

RuneScape is still a great game to play, even though the removal of PKing from the Wilderness has taken effect. I can understand on how much the Wilderness affected the game, particularly with clans, since several of them closed due to the removal of the Wilderness PKing (Aggression, Noobs Inc., etc.) and since the clan I’m in, The Gladiatorz, PKed a lot in the Wilderness, it has affected us but we have adapted to the clan wars arena. Yes, I don’t agree with many of the things that Jagex has done, but if you want changes, don’t complain about it, do something. And if Jagex doesn’t have your attention, keep trying.

Runescape has MANY new updates and has brought back the wilderness but they made it even better then it was before. If you played Runescape and quit because of the wilderness you missed out on a lot of awesome new quests, skills, monsters and items. Jagex has really stepped up with Actively communicating with its members on the RuneScape forums. The game is back and better then ever.

Kyle8355 you are perfectly right!

I myself stopped playing during the Wilderness update but when a few months later i started again i was fascinated by the amazing new updates there had been.

PvP Worlds are now a major part of the community and make Runescape the largest community of free MMO players in the world.
