China Embraces Online Games

Xinhuanet reports that game developers in China are hoping to share in the lucrative online game market currently dominated by Korean companies. Legend of Knights Online, the first Chinese-made online game, has been quite successful, having reached 80,000 simultaneous players recently. A variety of interesting statistics in the article demonstrate how big a business Internet games are becoming. "Earlier this year, of the top 100 tycoons on the Forbes list, three from the IT industry confirmed that most of their wealth had been made through the online gaming industry."
